Today's Scripture:
Romans 12:1 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sister, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship."
Today's Inspiration:
We are made to worship! God delights in the worship of His children! What is a true worship? Worship is a life style and not an event. Our life is a worship unto our maker. Romans 12: 1 is an amazing discription of what a true and pleasing worship is. When you see this scripture, Paul starts saying with 'therefore". It is important that we should find out what it is 'therefore', is there for. Paul is refering to the saying in the previous 11 Chapters of Romans. And that message is we are all sinners, redeemed by God's love and mercy. Despite our sin, God has forgiven us. Paul was highlighting "Therefore, in light of all of this, present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service."
The key word is 'sacrifice', which is total dedication of our mind and body to the will of God. Many times, we have the tendency to forget that as a disciple, we are sold out to God. We know we need a reminder. That's why bible says that we must commit daily in our thoughts, actions and in our bodies. As God's children, we should manage our body, mind and heart without being corrupt and negligent. In Daniel 6:4, Daniel's enemies observe a life style that is .... "trustworthy, and neither corrupt nor negligent." How is our dedication for God with our body, mind and heart?

Practical Application
Our bodies can be considered machines that carry us from place to place as we carry out the work God has planned for us (Ephesians 2:10). An unhealthy body will make us slow, lethargic, and prone to illness and injury. Good nutrition is crucial for proper brain function and hormonal balance; eating the right food contributes highly to our ability to think clearly and to our general quality of life. Therefore, good nutrition can help support our service for the Lord. How does the food you put into your body contribute to your strength and energy to carry out God's work? Write down what you have eaten over the last week, and evaluate whether what you have eaten has helped or hindered your ability to carry out God's work?
